Becoming the first Belgian skipper to complete a solo, non-stop round-the-world trip on a 40-foot sailboat comes at a cost. Establishing this record will depend greatly on good technical preparation before the start of the race. Sailing is a mechanical sport, made up of a multitude of spare parts articulated around a solid structure, it is imperative that the boat holds up over more than 150 days of racing! 60% of the route will take place in the heart of the most dangerous regions in the world, isolated from any inhabited land.

Being independent and having reliable equipment is not a luxury.

This directly affects the survival of the skipper.

The first edition of the Global Solo Challenge 2023-2024 had a total audience of 80 million people! The event reached 106 television channels with a reach reaching 854 million households in 157 countries, providing an estimated real audience of more than 40 million people. The skippers alone have more than 750,000 subscribers on social networks.

With satellite connectivity exploding, everything suggests that all participants in the next edition of the Global Solo Challenge will be equipped with a high-speed satellite connection. (Only 8 skippers out of 16 were equipped with Starlink in 2023-2024). This phenomenon will only strengthen interactions between skippers and earthlings!

To take on this extraordinary challenge and become one of the 200 human beings to have completed a solo, non-stop trip around the world, our team must raise 250,000 euros. Every support, every donation, whatever it may be, will bring us a little closer to our goal!

100% of the money raised will be injected into the necessary equipment: sails, standing rigging, energy, electronic equipment and various modifications in the cockpit and inside compartment.

We have been working with Walter since 2018, with several boats and different projects, and we didn't hesitate long before asking him to bring his expertise and support for the Global Solo Challenge project...
